final news for 2008

Dear all out there, it has been a great, busy and successful happy year 2008,

thanks to my family and all my supporters and friends for helping me to reach my goal,

to participate in the Red Bull Air Race.

2009 will be for sure a highlight for me and my team. New tasks, new connections, new targets.

Team MD is highly motivated for the upcoming race season, we´ll do our best to perform well.

There will be a lot of news regarding Team MD, additional Team-Members are coming on board, new plane, new partners etc, all will be presented at a later date :-)

Here is a bit of what will fly through the race track soon!

I wish you all "einen guten Rutsch", have a great party and let´s pop the corks on 2009 :-)

Rookie-Selection for RBAR 2009 :-)

Ladies & Gentlemen,

the Red Bull Air Race Committee selected me to be an Air Race Pilot for the Season 2009.

We will be 4 new rookies in 2009, together with me, my friends from the Global Aerobatic Team,

Matt, Yoshi and Pete are selected for the next season as well, our dream came through :-)

I´m looking very much forward to 2009, it will be very interesting!

Hangar-4 again...

sunny wednesday shows a good progress of our new Hangar-4 :-)

Tuesday foggy but busy...

Just on time for the novemberautmn we start to get foggy weather here in Tannheim,
nothing to fly today, but some big improvements on the Hangar-4. The bet is on, that we
move in by 1st December, the Hangar-Raise-Party is happening this Saturday :-)
So, watch out, the woodys are gettn fast now, great to see hangar growing...

Also today, the head of district authority, Mr. Dr. Schmid, visited Tannheim Int´l today to get
an overview about our activities. Together with our mayor and some other important officials from our district authority we welcomed them on our airfield.

We had a super sunny weekend with lots of flying, my friend Mark (Oldtimer) and me, after my training flight on sunday afternoon.





Finally our Hangar-4 is growing. Let´s see if the "woodies" get the framework done till 7th November :-)

Red Bull Air Race goes LIVE online

For the first time ever, the Red Bull Air Race will be broadcast live online at http://www.redbullairrace.com/.
The grand finale of the 2008 World Championship in Perth, Australia will be aired on Sunday 2nd November enabling fans to follow all the thrills and excitement in real time. The race will be presented by Nick Fellows and former Red Bull Air Race pilot Frank Versteegh. Those who miss the live webcast will be able to watch the replays afterwards. The Red Bull Air Race is currently broadcast on television stations in over 100 countries worldwide and the online webcast from Perth will provide another means to enjoy the final showdown of the season. “This is one more step towards being able to provide the full Red Bull Air Race live experience and it’s something that our fans around the globe can look forward to in the future”, said Kim Bernhard Head of TV & New Media for Red Bull Air Race.
It has been a spectacular season for the global motorsports competition, which has seen second year sensation Austrian Hannes Arch overtake Britain’s Paul Bonhomme to lead the Red Bull Air Race World Championship going into the final race. Arch needs just one point in Perth to clinch the title but Bonhomme, who had been the hot favourite this year, could still win if he comes first in Perth and Arch finishes with zero points. The Championship is by no means over yet and the heat will be on in Australia.

Time flies

After a very busy and successfull summer 2008, I´d like to thank everyone who supported me, in whatever way, to reach my goals this year. It has been an amaizing year with lots of work, fun and good way of life.





In April I received my brandnew Extra 330SC, the state-of-the-art-aerobatic-machine :-)

It flies....

After weeks of training, my first podium for aerobatics in June 2008, 2nd place at the world aerobatics cup in Roudnice, Czech.

At the European Aerobatic Championships 2008 I placed 19th out of 45 Europeans, reached the Top-50-Percent and the goal. Thanks Patrick and GAT2008, unforgetable moments!

Did you ever ask yourself, how would you paint your own plane?
Many questions are coming up with that, I had big luck with finding Mirco from Aircraftstudiodesign.

First we talked a lot via skype and email, finally we thought it would be the best to see each other and to finalize the job.

After 7 hours drive, heavy snow on San Bernadino, I made it safe to Modena,
to see Mirco from Aircraftstudiodesign. Mirco is designing the paintscheme of my
